Title: Walk and Talk Wednesdays
Type of Walk: Slow to moderate pace to meet everyone’s needs. Approximate distance-1.6 miles in one hour on a dirt path along the beautiful Arkansas River. Dogs, strollers, wheelchairs are all welcome!
Walk Description: This walk is to get everyone out to enjoy fresh air, sunshine and movement. We want to encourage walkers to get to know someone new along the way and have rich conversations with each other. We will be walking up and back on the Barbara Whipple Trail, in Buena Vista. We will be walking bridge to bridge and will not do a loop Please contact your host if you have questions.
Walk Host: Molly Bischoff/Abbie Cobb are passionate walkers and they want to help motivate people of all ages and abilities to take a walk for their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.
Meeting Location, Parking: Meet at the bridge by the soccer fields in BV. There is a covering and bench before you hit the bridge-we will meet there
Trip Notes:
- There is no need to sign up in advance-just show up! It’s free!
- We will match our pace with whoever shows up to walk.
- Bring water to stay hydrated
- Due to varying weather conditions, please come prepared with enough layers and/or waterproof gear to keep yourself comfortable during the walk.
- Please be sure you are confident your dog can handle 1.6miles in a variety of weather conditions and that your dog is calm, well behaved. Your dog MUST stay leashed , preferably on a 6 foot or shorter leash, and please remember to bring baggies.
- There are restrooms available by the soccer fields
- We only cancel in extreme weather conditions on our path, such as blizzard conditions, ice, hail, or lightning. Text or call Molly at 970-309-9145 or the most up-to-date conditions.
