Title: Fun, Fit and Frosty Snowshoe Saturday, March 4th 9:30am
Type of Walk: A three-mile (1.5 up and 1.5 mile back) snowshoe up Old Monarch Pass. This is a high-altitude hike with some vertical incline. The group will end at 11,350 ft. Well behaved dogs welcome.
Walk Description: This snowshoe walk will begin at the parking area at Old Monarch Pass. Plan for cold temperatures and at least some wind. Snowshoes and poles are strongly encouraged. This is a moderate fitness walk so only experienced walkers are encouraged. Please contact your host if you have questions.

Meeting Location, Parking: Meet at 9:30 am on Route 50 on the pull-out parking lot on the right about 1 mile past Monarch Mountain Ski resort. Want to carpool? Meet at the visitor center in Poncha Springs at 8:50am. Leaving parking lot by 9am.
Trip Notes:
- There is no need to sign up in advance-just show up! It’s free! Carpooling is encouraged.
- We will match our pace with whoever shows up.
- Bring water and a snack to stay hydrated.
- Due to varying weather conditions, please come prepared with enough layers and/or waterproof gear to keep yourself comfortable during the snowshoe trek.
- There are no restrooms.
